The tool runs entirely in your browser

When you choose a country and a destination on the front page, no request leaves your device. The figures are already in the page when it loads, and the calculation happens locally. We do not know, and cannot know, which route you looked up. The same is true of the fee conversion: it uses the country you picked, never your IP address.

What we do collect

Google Analytics, for page views. That gives us which pages were opened, roughly where in the world from (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), and what device and browser were used. We use it to see which pages are useful and which are not worth maintaining.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland this is switched off until you accept it. Decline and no analytics cookies are set; you can still use every part of the site. Elsewhere it runs by default. To change your answer, clear this site's data in your browser and you will be asked again.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not build profiles, and we have nothing to sell — neither your data nor anyone else's.

Community reports

The first-hand accounts here are collected from publicly readable forum pages whose robots.txt permits it. No accounts, no logins, no private groups. Before anything is stored we strip usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, employer names and university names.

If you submit your own experience, we ask for no name, no email and no identifying detail, and we would rather you left out anything that could identify you. Do not paste passport numbers, application reference numbers or case numbers — we do not want them and we will delete them.

Links to other sites

Some outbound links are affiliate links, meaning we may be paid if you buy something after clicking. Those are marked, and they never change what the data says or the order anything is ranked in. Once you follow a link, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.
